Catnut Swamp

West of Cat Tree City, in a damp forest, live a few unusual individuals: the Catnuts. Most are exiled Kittens who decided to cut all ties with the Kingdom to settle in the woods and live there as hermits. They keep little contact with one another and even less with the outside world, making them all but impossible to count.

Their name comes from their armour made of giant prickly husks, which makes them look like big chestnuts. The armour and their shaggy fur, mud-matted and tangled with leaves, make them perfect bogeymen for fireside tales. In truth, their nature is introverted rather than hostile: a Catnut who trusts a Kitten will be the kindest of hosts and the most loyal of allies.

Bibi is the best-known example of the Catnuts.
