Site publisher

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States, phone +1 888 993 5273. Its representative in the European Union is Cloudflare Portugal, Unipessoal Lda., Largo Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro 29, 1200-369 Lisboa.

Intellectual property

The setting, rules, text and artwork of Dungeons and Kittens belong to Book in Game. The game is published in French by Studio Deadcrows and in English by Edge Studio. This wiki is the reference wiki approved by Studio Deadcrows, see About for what that approval covers.

It restates the material in its own words. Only two pages reproduce text from the books: the Errata, which quotes the faulty passages sentence by sentence, and Kitten Names, whose block reserved for Book 1 owners reproduces its name tables. Official artwork is credited on each page.

Community content, scenarios and downloadable resources remain the property of their authors, and may state their own usage terms on their page. Any takedown or credit correction request goes to the email address above.

Editorial method

The pages of this wiki are written with help from Claude, Anthropic's language model, for rewording, data formatting and proofreading. Nothing is published without human review.

My position on generative AI

This position is mine alone and binds no one else.

I am a developer, and AI is part of my daily work as a coding assistant. It is a great tool for proofreading, for checking a fact against a body of sources and for helping with writing.

I am also an illustrator and a creator of artistic content. And AI applied to artistic creation is a real problem, both for its lack of artistic sensibility and because its abilities come from a body of images and creative content scraped without the consent of their authors.

I therefore use AI as a tool to help me code and organize my content, but I do not condone its use for writing and illustrating artistic content, and I am against it.

Personal data

Reading the wiki requires no account and collects no personal data: the audience measurement described below only counts visits. Only the access request for reserved content involves personal data, processed under Tomo's responsibility:

  • What is collected: your email address, the publications you declare owning, the free-form message if you write one, and the proofs of purchase you attach.
  • Why: to check that you do own the publications, open the matching account, and notify you of the decision. The processing rests on the request you make, and does not happen if you make none.
  • Who can see it: Tomo, and anyone holding administrator access to the wiki. Nothing is passed on to Studio Deadcrows or to a commercial third party.
  • Where it is stored: the database and files are operated by Supabase, Inc., notification emails by Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.), both United States companies. Data may therefore be transferred outside the European Union, under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
  • For how long: proofs of purchase are kept for five years after the decision, a duration aligned with the general French civil limitation period, so that granting access only to owners can be demonstrated. Your email address and the list of granted accesses are kept as long as the account exists.
  • Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, objection and restriction, exercised by email at the address above. A document kept to justify a decision may be retained despite an erasure request, as article 17.3.e of the GDPR allows. A complaint can be filed with the French CNIL.
  • Under 15: the access request must be made by a parent or legal guardian.

A proof of purchase does not need to carry more than what is asked. On an invoice, everything other than the email address can be masked before sending.

Audience measurement and cookies

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without setting a cookie and without creating an identifier that could track you across sites. No consent is therefore requested.

Signing in to reserved content stores a session in your browser. It is strictly necessary to the service you ask for by signing in, and goes away when you sign out.

YouTube videos embedded in a page only load after a click on the preview, which the page announces beforehand. As long as you do not click, YouTube sets nothing.
