Le dépotoir

Le dépotoir is a blackish, muddy expanse in the south of the swamp. The rubbish of the big-bare-butts has piled up there over time into a meander of refuse islets: bathtubs, bed frames, pipework, bicycles, street lamps. The mounds outline the shapes of giants, in grimy plastic and rust-eaten metal, that look ready to come alive.

The water is a mix of chemicals, fuel and thick mud, and one wades through it up to the hock. The meowgic trees refuse to sink their roots into it, which leaves the Timberwalkers in a bind.
