Catnut Swamp

Les Moulineaux

Les Moulineaux are a string of mills and dams lined up along the great river running down to Cat Tree City. Beaver communities live there and take pride in their locks and irrigation systems. Thanks to them, the capital never runs short of kibble.

The place is a compulsory stop for anyone traveling by water. Many boatcats offer their barges there to travelers who want to go up the river and push into the swamp. Among them, Godille, a tabby tomcat, refuses to go too deep into the marshes.

For some time now the swamp has been extending its borders: the tracks are turning to mire, and its spread endangers the beavers' works.

Travelers who fall asleep in a hammock at the foot of a tree near the swamp regularly wake up in the heart of the marshes, still hanging from their tree.
