The Central Tower

Appears in

The central tower is the heart of Cat Tree City and the seat of Walter's power. It is a vertical city in its own right: the richest and most powerful cats strive to climb ever higher, vying in eccentricity to decorate their floor. Mechanical lifts pass through these microcosms one after another, each stranger than the last.

Only nobles and people of a certain rank are admitted. Commoners and the poor must remain in the suburbs that sprawl at its feet.

Known Floors

Upper floors of the tower reserved for the nobility, with palaces, lavish restaurants and Purr-ecious item shops, the favorite playground of adventurous Kittens.

Floor covered in hundreds of mirrors of every size and material, hung in the utmost disorder across the walls.

Greenhouse of exotic plants and strange fruits tended by the meowges of Highcastle, who keep it at tropical temperatures all year round.

Academy attended by all the Kittens of Cat Tree City, where mastery of formal dance sets the nobility apart from the dwellers of the outskirts.

School reserved for the tower's young nobles, teaching arts, music, arithmetic and eloquence, whose recess also draws the Kittens from the outskirts.

Labyrinth of bathrooms, pools, pipes and boilers frequented at all hours by the cats of the tower, with masseurs and beauticians on hand.

The tower's library, rich in maps, atlases and spellbooks, guarded by the strict librarian Lamia who keeps a close eye on every loan.

Floor of Cat Tree City entirely devoted to the fine spice trade, run by Bareboddy.

Walter's private floors, off-limits to the public except for the throne room, hiding a secret larder, bodyguards and a private lift.

The tower's underground prison, six floors below the surface, where Kittens caught red-handed end up, awaiting the mercy of the guards or of Walter.

Venerable toy store in the Heights of Cat Tree City, run by the cat Taro, famous among young visitors as a quiet haven where they can play and snack on sweets.
