A starter box that introduces the setting and rules of Dungeons and Kittens step by step, for children aged 7 and up, families and groups who have never played. A game brings together two to five players and a Storyteller. Published by the French publisher Studio Deadcrows for Book in Game in 2025, with credits dating the first booklet to 2024 and the second to 2025.

Contents

The box contains two booklets, a rules summary, 5 ready-to-play characters, 24 six-sided dice, 6 location maps, tokens and a play aid.

Booklet 1, First Adventures, is read first. It explains how to play and offers three short adventures, from 30 minutes to an hour each, which introduce the rules one at a time and are played in order.

Booklet 2, More Adventures, contains two longer adventures of about four to five hours, one in Bigwheel, the other in Corktown. All five adventures share a common thread, the mouse sorcerer Mickus.

The text is by Trickytophe, with additional text by François Cedelle in booklet 1. Clément de Ruyter is credited for the setting, the cover and the illustrations, the latter made with help from Lucy Vallin. François Cedelle and Trickytophe share the editorial direction, François Cedelle did the page layout.

The English edition, Dungeons & Kittens Starter Set, is published by Edge Studio (Asmodee Group).

Settings

Bigwheel is a former amusement park that the raccoon Dualeaper and his troupe of traveling performers restored, then turned into a free enclave devoted to entertainment.

Corktown is a cosmopolitan port city where the law carries little weight, run by the sprawling Rinswith-Gutrotter family.

Booklet 2 gives a summary description of both places, with a few additions exclusive to the box.
