Corktown

At the very tip of a rocky peninsula, on the edge of the known lands, protected by a mighty wall, stands Corktown. The city is overcrowded, dirty, foul-smelling and twisting, but also cosmopolitan, exotic and free. It welcomes every sailor and scoundrel the great blue has to offer: one-eyed parrots, tattooed crabs, fish in diving suits. These rough sorts travel on motley ships, traders or pirates depending on the day, and bring back to Corktown fantastic stories and fabulous goods.

Countless drinking houses, typical barrel-shaped homes, legendary drunken nights: the city is as famous for its taverns as for its harbor. The festive atmosphere draws sailors and landlubbers alike.

Law and justice are distant concepts here: it is the strongest, the richest or the loudest who prevails. The Rinswith-Gutrotter family rules the harbor and its surroundings in practice, but the city remains a refuge for those who want to quietly go about their business, far from Walter's authority.
