The Slumbering Forest

On the border of the Kingdom of Cats and the Junkyard stretches a vast forest reputed to be meowgical. Its heart is the domain of Selene, a spirit who takes the form of an immense owl with a plumage of leaves, bearing two great horns made of flowering branches. Selene sleeps without end, lulled by the bagpipes Dreamsinger, and it is from her enchanted dreams that the wood draws its vitality.

But as the years pass, the dogs and the Cats grow restless at the forest's edge. Trees are felled to feed the furnaces. Selene's gentle lullaby has slowly turned into a slow, hoarse rasp of brass that fills the forest and wakes terrifying creatures in its depths.

The forest is guarded by Luna, a greyhound born in the Junkyard who fled Brutus's brutality to protect Selene's domain.
