The Cricketers
Description
The Cricketers are an outlaw brotherhood living on the edge of the Slumbering Forest. They gather cats who left Cat Tree City and dogs who fled Brutus's tyranny at the Junkyard, all united by their rejection of both regimes and a strong taste for speed and freedom.
Their signature look: thick studded leather vests with flamboyant patterns, and their mounts, huge buzzing crickets with decorated chitin plates. You can hear them coming from afar. Their reputation is poor: brawlers, partyanimals, disrespectful, thieves, smugglers. Many of the crimes committed by Ptolemeow's gangs are wrongly pinned on them.
Becoming a Cricketer requires passing initiation rites: drinking with the elders, fighting the strongest member, and above all catching one's own wild cricket in the tall grass north of the forest, all while avoiding the giant lizard that also lurks there.
Their leader is Buddy, the toughest and most relentless of them all, whose head has been put up for bounty by both Walter and Brutus.
