Genesis of the game
Dungeons and Kittens grew out of the world imagined by Clément de Ruyter. Before becoming a tabletop roleplaying line published by the French publisher Studio Deadcrows, the project already existed in several forms: drawings, a first game booklet and an animated series project.

The project was then taken up and developed by Studio Deadcrows. The funding campaign for Book 1: Core Rulebook launched on February 13, 2023 on

The animated series Dungeons & Kittens was announced in development with Watch Next and France Télévisions. Communications at the time mentioned a release planned for 2025, but no actual broadcast date has been confirmed to date.
