Description
Gédéon, nicknamed "La Planche", is an old tinkering beaver, the ship's craftsman of the Jour d'été. Carpenter, sailmaker and rope-maker, he tends the schooner with jealous care: he was already part of the crew before captain Capucine won the ship at dice. A brilliant tinkerer, he can repair or build all sorts of machines.
