Old Man Chompy's Workshop

Since Walter launched his industrialisation programme, large factories have replaced the district's myriad small workshops. A few remain, the most famous being that of Old Man Chompy. From the start, he has resisted the king's pressure to close down and make way for a new factory, holding old property deeds that do not allow the king to impose his will.

The price has been heavy: three grandsons and two granddaughters were exiled by Walter to punish this stubbornness. But Old Man Chompy keeps working, making useful and beautiful objects, training apprentices. Little by little, he has become the most important figure of the resistance against Walter in the district.
