Right beneath the Soot District, a vast round vaulted hall with perfect acoustics stays completely cut off from the surface. It is here that Bruno, a mannered and charming Cat, found a barrel organ and its whole collection of music cards.

What began as a private club for a few insiders has become, by word of mouth, an ever more popular gathering place. To avoid drawing Walter's attention, Bruno has built a maze of sliding walls and secret doors whose layout changes every week, and only the residents of the Soot District are kept informed. No noble from the tower has ever come down to slum it here.
