Valley of Statues
A secluded vale along a turbulent river, reached from Rive-verte. At the heart of the ruins of an old manor, surrounded by white marble statues, lives a lonely, shaggy human. He does no harm and rarely leaves his corner, but rumours swell in the nearby village.
The human now tends the manor garden with care. He lives on fresh water, roots, berries and apples from a vast orchard alongside. The statues seem to obsess him: he appears to recognise something in them, like an echo of his own kind. The village children, led by the young hedgehog Bafrelin, mount ever bolder expeditions into the ruins.
