The Lair of Suzanne

At the heart of a small, sparse forest, behind monumental rusted gates, at the end of a rough path, hides the lair of Suzanne the witch-viper. She lodges in a crumbling tower, in truth an old dovecote, by the edge of a pond overgrown with water lilies, where an old fisherman's boat floats and serves as a resting spot for the many birds passing through.

Many animals make the pilgrimage here to consult the seer and learn more about the mysteries of the world. Suzanne demands a ring of precious metal as payment, and she has amassed a great treasure of them, used to fashion herself magnificent finery.

The domain is run day to day by Dame Sibelle, a pragmatic magpie, and by the twins Palipette and Paleprenette, two chatty moorhens who handle the chores. The bullfrog Bojosar has his eye on this domain and seeks to take control of it.
