The Scepter of Command

Description

The Scepter of Command is a golden wand shaped long ago by Circe, one of the very first meowges. The learned cat was after a way to be obeyed by her most unruly students, and the object goes well beyond that purpose: it bends even the most stubborn to its bearer's will.

After years of mysteries and dealings, it reached Corktown and the trotters of the Baron of the day. It has passed from Baron to Baron among the Rinswith-Gutrotters ever since, and its existence remains a state secret. The head of the family uses it now and then against a relative grown too ambitious or too troublesome.
