Company of All Forests (CTF)
Description
The Company of All Forests (CTF) is a volunteer guild whose emblem is a golden oak topped by a rainbow. Its motto is "To every tree, its protector!"
Its leader holds the title of Great Oak. The bear Baptiste holds this position. Membership fees and donations support the guild.
CTF volunteers observe plants and beasts to better protect forests. They fight damage caused by pollution, excessive tree cutting and hunting beyond what is needed. The guild was born when Animals saw some of their own taking up the bad habits of the big-bare-butts.
The Great Oak selects the most active and courageous volunteers as forest rangers. The duck Victorin is one of them. These agents travel from one region to another in green uniforms bearing the CTF badge.
Pigeons carry their orders, but they may also act without waiting for an assignment. Their knowledge of the woods allows them to guide lost travelers. The guild also maintains lodges where travelers can find shelter, either at the edge of the woods or farther among the trees.
